The client could not find a linen cupboard which would fit the recess that was planned for it. Her requirements were pretty simple; three full width drawers for the clothes and smaller ones for the cosmetics.
Also the counter of the bathroom was made out of a solid oak board so she asked a matching wood for the cabinet. The thickness of the counter is also something the client liked so I decided to cover the edges of the laminboards I used for the body of the cabinet with oak battens. Visually the boards seem thicker but it also reinforce the large shelves. The design tries to find the balance between the full and the empty. Three full with drawers on the bottom respond to three shelves on the top, the symmetry is centered in the middle of four smaller drawers. The simplicity of the design emphasises the beauty of the oiled oak. OAK LINEN CUPBOARD
