For years the client had cheap sliding doors in front of their entrance cabinet, standard ones that you can find at the home center. The sliding mechanism wasn't working anymore, the plastic wheels were constantly getting out of track that's why they called me.
I decided to reuse the melamine sheets as a panel and made a traditional wooden frame around them. The frame is made out of an exceptional plank of French pine wood, very straight grain, not a single knot, light yet sturdy, in oder words the perfect material for a door frame. Since the doors are super high and narrow, I decided to put a middle rail and carved a handle in it. The circular hole, the white panels and the sliding mechanism reminds me of Japanese "fusuma" doors. ENTRANCE SLIDING DOORS
